PRISM is entirely designed to connect LGBTQ2IA+ children and youth with LGBTQ2IA+ adults. The children and youth can foster an authentic bond with an LGBTQ2IA+ identifying adult. The relationship will provide a child or youth with a safe place to explore their identities, create an empowering relationship with a mentor and connect to the LGBTQ2IA+ community in Oxford County. This relationship is created through weekly hangouts, for a couple of hours, each week. Help create an empowering future for the LGBTQ2IA+ community by being a mentee or a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Oxford County.
Eligibility Criteria: Mentor
Caring, positive role-models age 18
Member of the LGBTQ2IA+ community
Can commit to mentoring approximately once a week for at least a year
No special skills are required, just a listening ear, patience with children, open heart and mind and the desire to be a friend!
Eligibility Criteria: Mentee
Age 9-17 years old
Children at risk of not reaching their full potential
Children open to developing a friendship by exploring common interests and activities with a mentor
Mentees benefit from the program by developing enhanced self-esteem, confidence, interpersonal and social skills
Local events and activities or just stay in and play

Pre-Match Training All aspects must be completed successfully in order to be accepted into the program
Activities May Include: Community Based 1:1 To support the health and safety of our matches regular check–ins with agency staff occur throughout the year. All parties are encouraged to contact the agency with any questions, concerns, or accomplishments. Board games Woodworking Bike Riding Movies Snow tubing Video Games Puzzles Sports Pride Events Bowling Cooking Any activities that are of shared interest and you can do together!
