Oxford Pride Committee

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Oxford county Pride would like to invite you to join us for our annual general meeting. Here you will learn more about us, can ask questions about our committee and learn how you can become more involved on the committee and within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This is the only time of year you can become a member of this committee.

Oxford County Pride is proud to announce that Fae Johnstone will be virtually joining our Annual General Meeting as our special guest speaker on October 19th, 2023.

Fae Johnstone is a trailblazing trans woman, queer advocate and small business owner. She is a sought-after speaker, trainer and writer on 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion in Canada. She is a co-owner and Executive Director of Wisdom2Action – a national consulting firm specializing in community engagement, organizational development and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, and President of the Society of Queer Momentum – a national 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy organization.

She is a leading advocate for queer and trans communities, rights, health and safety in Canada. For 10 years, she has challenged Canadian governments to advance systemic change for 2SLGBTQ+ communities. She regularly writes op-eds, mobilizes partners organizations on advocacy issues, comments on 2SLGBTQIA+ issues in the media, and engages with elected officials to galvanize action on queer and trans rights.

Fae was named an “Emerging Social Impact Leader” by The Peak, a “Top 30 Social Purpose Newsmaker” by Future of Good, “One of Ten Spectacular Canadian Women to Watch” by Notable Life, and was the 2016 recipient of LGBT Youth Line’s Trans Activist Award. She is the first trans woman to serve on the Board of Directors of YWCA Canada and Oxfam Canada. She’s also on a chocolate bar.
